bev harris is scareing me.

Bev Harris took my shoe!

Posted by: Meg at December 14, 2004 06:30 PM

apparently Bev Harris aka, Mrs. Black Box voting has been difficult to work with regarding her role in the Ohio recount effort. Randi has tried over 3 times to get in touch with her and several other media outlets have not had much success in talking with her. Evidently, she is becoming the problem. Several congressmen want to help her and she's not trying to get assistance. That's the quick version of what I all heard.

Posted by: Bushleague at December 14, 2004 06:28 PM

some monkey bizniz may be afoot.

details still sketchy... all will be revealed.

Heh, heh, heh...how fucking Sybilesque.

Now I'm just guessing here, really this is just a guess! No really, a guess...but...*I* wouldn't be surprised to "see" that skirted war poodle & bosco have the same IP addy. Hmmmmm?

Almost the same as "skirted" war poodle AND skirt gurl (celticman) having a conversation, eh? [wink, wink]

The majority is a difficult concept to grasp..

Until there's an election..

John Kerry understand the concept of majority..

I'm thinking about changing my nic to:

"The Vast Republican Majority"

I speak for them I might as well carry the nic!

Posted by: War Dog at December 14, 2004 06:46 PM

Right now, forget the money, my issue is why the hell was she not at the hearings? This is the more troubling issue as well as blowing off Keith Olberman and MSNBC, the only mainstream network that has been covering voter fraud. Bev would be wise to not blow off those who support and defend her.

Posted by: Bushleague at December 14, 2004 06:47 PM

Yo, Scotty....beam me & dada into the same transporter buffer.....please!

Bosko, have an ovaltine & vodka, on me!

Holy shit...if there were ever two more divergent personalities on this blog....sheesh!

[Hey dada, you ready for dinner? Yeah, what am I, errrrr, are we havin'?]

I am sure Sam will be fine with this blog page being used as such.. since we don't have info above on who will be on the show. So.... The DNC should at least have a look how it works in Germany or France. The opposition Leader is for four years in charge and the election. Between are important Conventions about the Party Topics. This we'll activate the party personal over 4 years.

Posted by: anonymous at December 14, 2004 07:24 PM

How could the Democratic party be stupid enough to let the election be decided on machines without paper ballots?

Why weren't they filing lawsuits 2 years ago?

Posted by: qw3rty at December 14, 2004 07:26 PM

Green Wave Initiative?

Hm... sounds interesting.

what's that about?

Posted by: steve at December 14, 2004 07:26 PM

Please ask Mr. Angelides if he any thoughts or solutions to the ecological disaster known as the Salton Sea, which is approx. 30 min. east of Palm Springs.

Posted by: Sbox Error at December 14, 2004 07:26 PM

You guys already moved right of the middle long ago - when are you going to go back to where you belong? I'm disgusted with most democrats.

Posted by: ferocious at December 14, 2004 07:28 PM

For Phil Angelides... How has the Power Crisis, the subsequent recall election and the selling of a puffed up popular character "Arnie for Guv" to the populace affected the California Democratic Party? How can they counter such extraordinary efforts to undermine the process?

Posted by: Scott at December 14, 2004 07:30 PM

I'd like to believe Democrats are as together as he thinks, but I for one will not give another dime to a party that won't fight for this stolen election. It has been 2 presidential elections in a row. They will never win again if they don't stop the fraud now.

Posted by: k at December 14, 2004 07:33 PM

Why do you think NO democrats except Byrd raised any objections to the patriot acts.

Posted by: ferocious at December 14, 2004 07:35 PM

After Peter Beinart's stupid article, I keep wondering what exactly is supposed to be so left-wing about Michael Moore. Can someone explain this for us?

Also, when we keep being told to "move to the center", where exactly is that? Does it have any relationship to the views of 60% of the US population?

And why are obvious right-wing nuts like Zell Miller called "centrist"? The center of what?

I think we have a right to know.

Posted by: Avedon at December 14, 2004 07:35 PM

Do not give money to Bev Harris! She is a total fraud and a rip off. She has been doing this for a long time. I've been trying to tell everyone for a long time. I even posted it on her web page but she erases my messages every day. The guys at DU will tell you all about her. they've dealt with her over the years and got the lowdown. I know that she used to sell Clinton Cigars 5 years ago. She will do nothing but ruin anything that she is at the head of. DU, Blackboxvoting.com , Even that blackbox book on her website that she supposedly wrote, she didn't actually write. The guy who wrote it Chris had a fight with her because she wanted to SELL the book! He wanted to give it away for free! Ask Chris at blackboxvoting.com if you don't believe me.

Posted by: mondo at December 14, 2004 07:36 PM

Whoever wrote that check to Bev, I would cancel it. She's using that money to try to make a movie for her own personal profit. Plus, shes pocketed THOUSANDS!

Hey talk about the MEDAL WINNERS...

New York Times...

Bush Honors 3 Ex-Officials Instrumental to Iraq Policy By DAVID STOUT

Published: December 14, 2004

WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 - President Bush awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom today to three men who he said had "made our country more secure and advanced the cause of human liberty": Gen. Tommy R. Franks, George J. Tenet and L. Paul Bremer III.

(snip)

"These three men symbolize the nobility of public service, the good character of our country and the good influence of America on the world," Mr. Bush said at a White House ceremony as he bestowed the awards, which were established by President Harry Truman to recognize civilians for contributions during World War II.

Tenant provided fake intelligence, Franks allowed massive looting and Bremmer dissolved the Iraqi Army.

For these incompetences, they give them medals.

Only these "Voting" Machines/Computers are CRIMINALLY-FIXED by Bush's hacks, and "Broken"!! NOT the Democratic Party-- KERRY WON every major EXIT POLL, showing KERRY winning by a LANDSLIDE, or at the least with 53-55% Of Popular Vote, etcetera, BUT Bush's advisor Told HIM later that "Election" Night that it "looks like KERRY's gonna win," and BUSH made Desperate Entreaties to K. ROVE, Ohio "Sec. of State" BLACKWELL, and everyone, to SUPPRESS the Dems Vote, "reverse" it to HIM, they can even do with such as Repub. "American" FEENEY's Vote Reverse SOFTWARE, etcetera. etecetera, and HERE we have "IT," the Monster of yet another STOLEN 'Election"!!

Question for Donna Brazile: As one of the most visible members of the Democratic Party, why is she so weak on promoting Liberal policies. Are her media appearances censored in any way? As a media regular, is there pressure from the corporate ownership to mute opinions? If not why does, of all people, Bay Buchanan constantly get the best of her when they debate. I have seen on more than one occasion, Buchanan forward lies which Ms. Brazile has ignored.

We need to get rid of machines with no paper ballots before 2006.

Posted by: qw3rty [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 14, 2004 08:17 PM

Donna Brazile? Jesus. She lost the Gore campeign. Why talk to the losers. The states the dems need to concentrate on are the western states and Florida. Write off the rest of them. Colordao is close to going blue and so are NV, NM and AZ. They should be pushing there and try to undo the damage of NAFT and GAT. And keep hammering at the unfairness of "freetrade".

Posted by: Christian at December 14, 2004 08:36 PM

You might be able to reinvent the Democratic Party. But please don't get messed up in semanticide by trying to "redefine" liberalism. Liberalism, and modern liberalism, means something. History owns the phrase.

The ideology of modern or "American" liberalism is clear. The heart and spirit of everything that modern liberalism stands for begins with the document of the Oxford Liberal Manifesto of 1947. All the fodder of any narrative or frame can start there. There is absolutely, positively NO reason for the blog to not read this manifesto right now and post their thoughts. It is short. It is good.

http://www.liberal-international.org/resolutions/47oxford.html

The biggest point of question in the manifesto would be the matter of free trade. I favor a fair trade approach. So it is also important to consider protectionist policies. But it has to be understood that this single issue is a historical departure from mod-liberalism. (Also, there are the compatible issues of the environment and identity issues that have a place and are not mentioned in the manifesto). But the foundation of the general ethic will be found right there in that document.

Also it is important to play up the question of "negative" and "positive" rights, which are a big question that separates liberals from libertarians.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positive_right

Third thing to play up: the moral objection against the war was a question of informed consent. Memorize that phrase. Informed consent. The American people did not have informed consent in going to war. It is the responsibility of a government to provide this in order for nations to engage in any pretense of having a moral interventionist war.

So three things. Oxford Manifesto; Negative/Positive Rights; Informed Consent. Those are my suggestions.
