Election numbers. And also the latest approval numbers. Except in the latter, they're reversed. Bush has certainly wasted no time.

Sean Hannity is mopping up the floor with Janeane. First she denies that Moore repeatedly said "there is no terrorist threat" and then when he plays the tape for her, Janeane says she agrees with Moore.

Makes sense. Yeah, calling Bush Hitler and Iraq Vietnam was dropping all of the metaphor bombs too early. Eventually the shock value diminishes to nothing. People become numb to that.
I wish we were not over there now, I am glad that Saddam is out of power...Iraqis may still be dying from attacks, but at least it's not the secret police rounding people up and torturing them for no reason.

I am freaking about tonight! It's my Dad's birthday and I am going out .. so I will miss the Hannity deal!! : ( Sad Panda!! Gonna try to record it though on Real Player... just hope my connection last long enough to do that! Lately it's been fallin' down on the job after about 45 minutes!! And.. with my luck.. Hannity will be 2nd or 3rd hour!
But.. in case there was a question.. here's the song for my day! http://www.lyricsdepot.com/martina-mcbride/baby-i-love-you.html .... And I used to HATE this song!! Oy vey!! Love..it's a Mutha!!

Hannity is delayed here. 6-9 pm. That's when janeane and sam are on here. (Central Standard Time).
Shell, I'm thinking of doing some stand up comedy. I've been an introvert all of my life, and I'm starting to shed that skin almost in its entirety. Some of the material is very edgy, about how pornography is boring and popping women's cherries is a waste of time. Charming stuff like that.

Posted by: shell at November 16, 2004 04:41 PM
Posted by: shell at November 16, 2004 04:43 PM
Sure, although I will not be citing any references.
Saddam butchered hundreds of thousands out of cruelty...he engaged in a genocidal project against the Kurds.
While our government has killed thousands of noncombatants, we regard it as tragic. When our soldiers torture, they are tried in military court. We do not target specific religious or ethnic groups, line them up, and kill them for no reason.
I used to live in an area with a heavy immigrant Iraqi population, and there was no end to the horror stories.
Eventually you have to just tell them to stop. Otherwise it'll make you sick.

GOP Lawmakers Alter Intelligence Reform Bill to Cloak Financial Ties
Watchdog groups say the provision would make it harder to detect conflicts of interest.
By Lisa Getter, Times Staff Writer
WASHINGTON --- Citing national security concerns, some Republican members of Congress are trying to limit the personal financial information that top federal officials must disclose.
Tucked within the House's 497-page version of the "9/11 Recommendations Implementation Act" is a provision to repeal the requirement that senior-level officials report their personal financial assets valued at more than $2.5 million. It also would end the practice of disclosing the dates of stock transactions.
The proposal to limit financial disclosures initially covered only top-level intelligence officials. It was recently expanded to include all executive branch officials, according to a draft version of the bill.
"Something like this shouldn't be done secretly," said Rep. Henry A. Waxman of Los Angeles, the ranking Democrat on the House Government Reform Committee. "It should be done thoughtfully and after some hearings."

SYNA,
~~~ Look what happened to those who didn't believe the election was stolen, an act which went against the grain of this blog. They were called idiots and spineless cowards, which is course is bullshit. ~~~
If you're talking about Cal... it was because he's a Wingnut troll wannabe who came here trying to masquerade as a liberal while... oh by the way... arguing against every single thing liberals believe in. A guy can say he's not gay, unless he only fucks other guys. Same thing. He was dishonest and he got served. Besides that, he really IS and idiot. People shouldn't come here expecting us to handicap their ability to debate. This isn't golf.
Find me another instance where we called people idiots and spineless cowards because they didn't believe the election was stolen.
SAM doesn't believe the election was stolen (yet... I'm working on my man)! I'm not sure Janeane does!
I did stand-up for a few years. It's cool if you're into it for fun, but when you try to make money, it becomes a grind.
Open mikes consist of comics in the audience looking for a few minutes of stage time. Don't expect too much love. If the material works in front of other comics it will do great in front of non-comedians
Some get bookers, some book themselves. You can get gigs from other comedians. In the beginning it's more about speaking slowly and not getting flustered when things don't go your way.
It's different from acting in that there's no "forth wall" between you and the audience, you have to make eye contact. You'll also forget stuff and mess up bit. It takes time to learn how to recover from mishaps, but once you bomb a few times, you realize there are worse things in life than making a fool of yourself in front of a group of people.
Just read a news story from the Scaramento BEE that the three presidents of the network news groups are saying that they want to know why all of the exit polls were wrong, that it got out on the internet, made them look stupid, blah, blah, blah. They are legitimizing this stolen election. The exit polls were not wrong. They are covering their assess and doing the bidding of their corporate bosses. The word has come down from on high. Kill this talk about the exit polls. They are laying the ground work to attack to recound efforts in Ohio. That is all that this story is about.
Saw it too. Unfortunately, he's pretty typical of most comedians. "Punchline" with Tom Hanks and Sally Field isn't bad. I've performed in hospitals, so I could relate to the scene in which Tom Hanks did so.
Don't let me discourage you. Having a great set can be very exhilarating. I just had gotten all I could out of the experience and decided to move on. Although, I occasionally entertain thoughts of returning.
British Hostage Believed Slain in Video
By MARIAM FAM
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Margaret Hassan, a kidnapped aid worker who spent decades bringing food and medicine to Iraqis, was believed murdered after Al-Jazeera television said Tuesday it received a video showing a hooded militant shooting a blindfolded woman in the head.
Hassan's family in London said the longtime director of CARE in Iraq was likely the victim, and British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said analysis of the video showed Hassan has "probably been murdered, although we cannot conclude this with complete certainty."
CARE said it was in mourning for the 59-year-old Briton, a veteran humanitarian worker known around the Mideast for her concern for Iraqis _ particularly during the years of U.N. sanctions, whose effects on children she vocally denounced.
"To kidnap and kill anyone is inexcusable," Straw said. "But it is repugnant to commit such a crime against a woman who has spent most of her life working for the good of the people of Iraq."
In an emotional appeal on Al-Jazeera, Hassan's Iraqi husband, Tahseen Ali Hassan, said he had heard of the video but did not know whether it was authentic.
Baghdad - Arab satellite station Al-Jazeera said Tuesday it had received a videotape showing the slaying of a woman believed to be British hostage Margaret Hassan, but would not broadcast the footage.
"We don't show acts of killing," said Jihad Ballout, Al-Jazeera spokesperson.
"We've never done it before, outside war."
He said the station received the tape a few days ago, but was not sure of its authenticity
who killed her ?
Whoever killed her it doesn't make
the killing we've been doing OK or
any less horrific, shooting an
unconcious, wounded, unarmed
combatant seems just as vile,
more vile actually when it's
a US Marine doing it.
Odd how the video of the slain
humanitarian shows up right after
the video of the murdered wounded
Fallujan resistance fighter ?
Funny how that works ?
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,138688,00.html
And now I'm going to be controversial. Now, I know the word is Condoleezza Rice (search) will get the job. And she is absolutely brilliant and very loyal to President Bush, but I would replace Secretary Powell with Bill Clinton.Yikes! The former president probably wouldn't take the job, but if he did, countries like France, Germany, and Spain would like the move, perhaps cooperate more with America. Add Canada and Indonesia to that group as well.
Mr. Clinton is a smart guy, knows the players and the issues, and has clout, especially in the Palestinian-Israeli arena. So there you go, bold move, little downside, maybe big benefits. But I'm sure President Bush isn't going to do it.
Is he going the way of Buchanan and moving to the middle? doubt, it must have been a weak moment for him.
Readers are invited to spare a moment this morning to consider the plight of the tearful widow of Yasser Arafat - recently departed for the great intifada in the sky. It seems she's having a bit of a trouble in the "getting my wedge out of Palestine" department. Maybe you can help?
Dear Friend,
This mail may not be surprising to you if you have been following current events in the international media with reference to the Middle East and Palestine in particular.
I am Mrs. SUHA ARAFAT, the wife of YASSER ARAFAT, the Palestinian leader who died recently in Paris. Since his death and even prior to the announcement, I have been thrown into a state of antagonism, confusion, humiliation, frustration and hopelessness by the present leadership of the Palestinian Liberation Organization and the new Prime Minister. I have even been subjected to physical and psychological torture. As a widow that is so traumatized, I have lost confidence with everybody in the country at the moment.
You must have heard over the media reports and the Internet on the discovery of some fund in my husband secret bank account and companies and the allegations of some huge sums of money deposited by my husband in my name of which I have refuses to disclose or give up to the corrupt Palestine Government. In fact the total sum allegedly discovered by the Government so far is in the tune of about $6.5 Billion Dollars. And they are not relenting on their effort to make me poor for life. As you know, the Moslem community has no regards for woman, hence my desire for a foreign assistance.
I have deposited the sum of 20 million dollars with a security firm abroad whose name is withheld for now until we open communication. I shall be grateful if you could receive this fund into your bank account for safe keeping and any Investment opportunity. This arrangement is known to yo
Spady fund-raiser spurs apology
Event at bar sought to raise money for alcohol education
By John C. Ensslin, Rocky Mountain News
November 16, 2004
A Fort Collins bar manager and a promoter apologized Monday for an aborted plan to donate money to an alcohol education program using proceeds from a wrestling match that offered free Jell-O shots to the first 100 women to attend.
The parents of Samantha Spady, a Colorado State University sophomore who drank herself to death in September, condemned the promoter's plan to raise money for the foundation they established in their daughter's name.
"We find it abhorrent that anyone would exploit the tragedy of her death in this manner," Rick and Patty Spady of Beatrice, Neb., said in a prepared statement. "We have not spoken with any of the organizers of this event, nor do we intend to, as this is exactly what we would like to see abolished."
On Sept. 6, Spady was found dead inside a CSU fraternity house where she had passed out after consuming a lethal level of alcohol. Her blood alcohol measured 0.43, more than five times the legal limit for Colorado drivers.
On Oct. 30, Architectural Promotions rented space from CB & Potts, a popular sports bar and restaurant just west of the CSU campus.
A man who set himself on fire outside the White House yesterday was a Yemeni federal informant on terrorism upset over how the FBI had managed his case, the Washington Post said.
From Air America Radio Website
Bush Administration Moves Further To Right
The resignation of Colin Powell marks the triumph of administration hardliners like Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld. “Powell's presence ensured that the president heard divergent views on how to proceed on key foreign policy issues,” the Washington Post reports. Condi Rice is sure to be a much more pliable Secretary of State than her predecessor. According to the British Guardian newspaper Powell’s resignation stripped the administration “of its last dissenting voice of moderation.” The Nation’s David Corn writes that Powell “served the president (more than the public), waited for him to be reelected, and then bugged out. His punishment for having enabled Bush should have been four more years.”
It is unfair to characterize Ms. Rice. She hasn't even had a chance to do the job.
Let's list some other ways the website hurts Democrats with swing voters.
1. Former President Bill Clinton recently spoke at a college. His topics repeated exactly Majority Report's blog. Let me say that again. A former PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES addressed issues seen at this blog. Topics in a record under the archive link which could be documented by historians. Does Majority Report now set the agenda of the largest contributor to the Democrat Party? Namely organized labor.
2. When no mention about solutions is given by a candidate, then swing voters will by default vote for the incumbent. John Kerry wanted the United Nations to be involved. What is it that you exactly want them to do, Janeane? The Secretary General recently gave audience to his subordinate. Iraq is too dangerous for representives of the U.N. to visit. If Mr. Kerry would have won, what would change exactly in the next two weeks? The answer is nothing. Therefore Majority Report and Air America Radio post-Nov. 2nd, do not serve Democrats with attacks on the current President's policies. They could however, use their broadcast license to solve our problems. For example, former National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft has recently written an article for the Stars and Stripes. Where do you think
Posted by: -B at November 16, 2004 06:30 PM
While Hannity is in here talking shit, trying to attract a wider audience, the major networks are helping the US military cover up WAR CRIMES IN IRAQ!!! They are making excuses for what was obviously a cold-blooded murder!!!
Oh, the soldier was wounded the day before.
There was a booby-trapped body down the road.
Maybe the soldier thought the half-dead man had an AK under his blood soaked cloathing.
FUCK ALL THIS BULLSHIT!
Posted by: the3rdoption at November 16, 2004 06:30 PM
Where do you think we would be today, with him? I don't want to imagine the possibilities, if this out spoken American had kept quiet.
3. The only punishment in serving duty your country or your President, is the hard time you get for knocking some traitor's teeth to the back of their head...for ever thinking about spitting on a wounded veteran, a returning soldier, or those who raise their right hand. I should know. I earn nothing, never get anything for my politics, and still get abused by Americans. Always have. Probably always will be. Why do you think I'm a drunk?
Posted by: the3rdoption at November 16, 2004 06:22 PM
I would like Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, O'Reilly and others to come on AAR. The AAR hosts have control here, and can shut off their mikes or yell over them just like they do on shows. Though the AAR hosts don't need to, they can control the conversion ensuring that their views and retorts are the focus, not the bs from the NeoPundits.
Buchanan, though not a NeoConservative, and actually somewhat more composed and moderate than usual as of late, is great when he comes on with Randi, though I think it's only happened twice. They go at it, respectfully and slinging facts and retorts of each others facts, raising voices, but in the end, the agree to disagree, and both look forward to the next time they can debate again.
I don't expect a NeoPundit to be this way, but I like the idea of controlling the situation, and I think all the AAR hosts are more than intelligent enough to see what the NeoPuns are bringing to the show, and what their possible motives may be to control and not allow them to have their way, yet not give them to much to go back to their own shows with to use against them.
bring them on!
Janeane, I wanted to thank you for arguing with Hambrain today. I live in somewhat rural oregon, where there is no political discourse on the radio (except my two hours a week on college radio).
There IS, however, a 12 hour or whatever block of RIGHT-WING MILLIONAIRE PROPAGANDA which sadly seems to be the only thing people in this community will support.
I know that Sean "fun and freedom" Hanittizer is a duplicitous/idiotic person, and trying to argue with him is like a rectal tonsillectomy, but I am glad you're willing to do it. Maybe one day you'll get through that thick skull. Maybe at least you'll influence some of the more thoughtful of his following. At least, I was glad to hear you.
Wanna help me fund the establishment of a radio station in my town? Air America or whatever. I'm an electronics engineering student, which means I'm busy, but also I can repair and maintain the equipment. Just wondering.
Everything's Beautiful
In Its Own Way
When I look out over a green field of clover
Or watch the sun set at the end of the day
I get kind of moody when I see such beauty
And everything's beautiful in its own way
When I see a fountain flow from a mountain
Or see April showers bring flowers to May
I can't help but ponder; life is such a wonder
And everything's beautiful in its own way
Words can't describe what I feel inside
When I see the beauty in each coming day
What my eyes behold can't be bought or sold
And everything's beautiful in its own way
When I see the clouds form a black summer windstorm
That uproots the harvest and hurls it away
In the midst of such anger, destruction and danger
The storm's even beautiful in its own way
When I see leaves drop off from the treetop
Or see the snow fall on a cold winter's day
My thoughts seem to wander into the blue yonder
God made all things beautiful in their own way
Words can't describe what I feel inside
When I see the beauty in each coming day
What my eyes behold can't be bought or sold
And everything's beautiful in its own way
In its own way, in its own way
Osama's Revenge by Paul Williams
Does Osama bin Laden have nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction? Is so, where are they? Are they in the hands of al Qaeda sleeper cells in the United States? Should Americans be bracing for a nuclear attack?
Former consultant for the FBI an organized crime and international terrorism and a seasoned investigative reporter, Paul L. Williams reveals the potential for nuclear terrorism on US soil in this shocking expose. Based on the findings of US, Israeli, Pakistani, and British intelligence, Williams describes how the theft of tactical nuclear weapons from Russian arsenals have in all likelihood made their way to al Qaeda cells throughout the United States in preparation for the next terrorist attack.
Williams presents clear evidence showing that, in the chaos following the breakup of the Soviet Union, the Chechen Mafia got its hands on portable Russian nuclear weapons. Between 1996 and 2001, mafia members negotiated the sale of twenty nuclear "suitcase bombs" to representatives of Osama bin Laden. Far worse than so-called "dirty bombs," each suitcase bomb is capable of killing millions of Americans while exposing millions more to deadly radioactive fallout. According to Williams, reliable sources indicate that these bombs may already be in the possession of al Qaeda operatives in such major cities as New York, Washington, Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas, Houston, and Los Angeles. In addition, bin Laden has recruited former Soviet scientists and technicians to maintain these weapons and recharge their nuclear cores so that they may be deployed immediately on his command. In 2001 he issued a statement boasting of his intent to have America experience a "Hiroshima."
Also included in the book are bin Laden's
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - British-Iraqi hostage Margaret Hassan has probably been killed by her captors, her family and diplomats have said after a video tape surfaced apparently showing a hooded gunman shooting her in the head.
If confirmed, the murder of Dublin-born Hassan would be the first killing of a foreign woman taken hostage by militants in Iraq.
Prime Minister Tony Blair’s spokesman said: “The prime minister sends his sympathy to the family of Margaret Hassan and shares their abhorrence at the cruel treatment of someone who devoted so many years to help the people of Iraq.”
“It is a cruel irony that Margaret’s captors did not show to her the same humanity and kindness which she demonstrated daily to those around her,” Irish President Mary McAleese said.
Hassan’s husband Tahsin appealed for her kidnappers to hand over her body. “I want to know if she is alive or dead. If she’s dead I want to know where she is so I can bury her in peace,” he told Reuters. “Margaret lived with me for more than 30 years in Iraq and dedicated her life to serving the Iraqi people.”
you go girl!:
One small step for Playboy, one giant leap for mankind.
Tomorrow during a photo shoot in Chicago, Jennifer Krum - a 25-year-old amputee model who lost her left hand and forearm in a car accident when she was 4 - will take it all off for a Playboy.com pictorial.
"If I was an able-bodied, all-of-my-limbs girl, I don't know if I'd do it," Krum confessed to Lowdown yesterday. "I'm doing it mainly because I want to send the message to people who are amputees, or have issues with confidence or don't find themselves attractive or sexy - that you can be attractive or sexy, even if you're an amputee."
Krum, who lives in Pennsylvania, was discovered by Hugh Hefner's venerable mag after she won Howard Stern's "Miss Amputee 2004" contest last week.
"They heard the broadcast and called Howard after they saw my pictures online. It says a lot about Playboy," she added. "They're sending a huge, positive message. They're saying they don't mind. It's a completely awesome thing around for everyone involved."
Yesterday, Playboy.com's editor in chief, John D. Thomas, told Lowdown: "She's a very attractive woman. We would not be taking the pictures if she weren't.
"Is it provocative? Duh. Of course. There are people who might think it's too offbeat, odd or disturbing. But I think that there are a lot of people out there who are in a similar position as she is who will say, 'Hell yeah' or 'Damn right.' "
He continued: "There's no jokey aspect. There's no wink-wink, nudge on our end. I don't know what kind of stigmas she has associated with being an amputee, but this will be one of the most affirming, positive experiences of her entire life."
Several male country musicians have made statements or written songs against the war (Rodney Crowell, Nelson, etc). I think the reason that the Dixie Chicks caught so much shit was because they don't have penises.
Anyone who called themselves a fan and had listened to their last album should not have been surprised that they spoke out against the war. It is pretty obvious where they stand from some of their songs that are very clearly anti-war.
He is practiced in what he is saying...eloquent almost. Shows a strong will to not see the villany in his beliefs. It is an accurate picture of who he represents. People who are anti-gay marriage and anti abortion do not believe they are bad people. It is easier to objectify they topic because if they personalize it then it becomes too difficult to back it up. Reminds me of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS "It puts on the lotion or it gets the hose."
I do not believe that you could be so convincing talking about Sean Hannity. It had to be for show. Jeanine said she will not go on his show because of his bullying. That had to be only for ratings. It sounded so good to hear someone tell him off. He infuriated me when he refused to talk to Sam and tried to steam roll him. He also tried so much to take over the show, but your "acts" in saying he was bad were music to my ears, even though people like you do things like that for those darn ratings as both Matt Drudge and Bill O'Reilly have said, and oh yeah, that farce Mark Levin also.
I do not know what more to say and I have a very good reputation for writing out here. The shock of the emotions from the both of you have me almost speechless. I just wish that it were all true. I have never heard a talk show host that is truthful to that degree. They all know that people have memories of a knat and act just like politicians changing what they say with immunity all the time. Even the great Michael Savage is not worth listening to anymore because (a) you are on and (b) because he changes what he says about others too much, almost as much as the fake, phoney, fraud....Sean Hannity whom I stopped listening to a long long time ago.
Time to go,
Jim A.
