"Your income under the Bush or Kerry tax plan"
"President Bush wants to make his tax cuts for all income levels made permanent, but Sen. John Kerry wants to repeal rate cuts for the wealthiest Americans. Check the chart below to see how different household incomes fare under a Bush or a Kerry tax scenario. (Estimates assume upper-income households have combination of wage and investment income.)"

Carmine is a waste of time and a real downer on any Friday.. let alone the one before the election... don't give these kinds of people the time of day... when you do you are giving them too much attention and control over the agenda... don't you think it's high time we just leave them behind and get it done? Instead of trying to persuade them to do it our way.

In contrast, the report showed that households in the middle 20 percent, with incomes averaging $57,000 per year, will receive an average cut of $1,090 while their share of the tax burden would move to 10.5 percent from 10.4 percent.
The CBO report said about two-thirds of the benefits from the cuts went to households in the top 20 percent, with an average income of $203,740.
People with earnings in the lowest 20 percent, which averaged $16,620, saw their effective tax rate fall to 5.2 percent from 6.7 percent, the CBO said. But Democrats said that meant their average tax cut was only $250.

Reversing the tax cuts will provide far more than enough to pay for these and other programs
Just look at the cost of the tax cuts so far
Additionally look at where Clinton got us in just 8 years
290.4 million Deficit under bush 1
To a 245 surplus under Clinton

Kerry blasts Bush over Halliburton probe
CALVIN WOODWARD AND TOM RAUM
ASSOCIATED PRESS
WASHINGTON — After days of making hay over lost Iraqi explosives, the Democratic ticket seized today on an expanding FBI probe of Halliburton as evidence the Bush administration gives special favours to special interests. President Bush was sharing the stage with a politician from Hollywood.
"We need a president and a vice-president of the United States who consistently stand up for the interests of the American people, and that's not what we're seeing right now," Democratic running mate John Edwards said on CBS this morning.
Edwards was more pointed last night when he told 3,000 people at a Davenport, Iowa, rally, "You cannot stand with Halliburton, big oil companies and the Saudi royal family and still stand up for the American people."
Bush turned to a pair of American heroes for affirmation of his re-election bid. Retired Gen. Tommy Franks, who oversaw the combat in Afghanistan and Iraq, saluted his old boss last night. Bush also was getting the endorsement of freshly minted World Series champion pitcher Curt Schilling. The Boston Red Sox player had planned to appear today with Bush, but his doctors advised him not to travel because of his injured ankle, Bush aides said.

Top 10 Lies about the Tax Cut
2. The Bush tax plan won't give 40% of its benefits to the richest 1 percent of the population, as calculated by the Citizens for Tax Justice in 1999, but only 22%, as calculated by the Joint Tax Committee of Congress.
The JTC's calculation only went through 2005, before many of the upper income tax cuts are completely phased in. And it ignored the feature that most benefits the wealthiest -- the repeal of the estate tax.

A Plan To Protect And Strengthen Medicare And Social Security
John Kerry and John Edwards understand that Medicare and Social Security are important commitments to America's seniors. These programs ensure that America's elderly have access to affordable, quality, and reliable health care. John Kerry and John Edwards will work to protect and strengthen Medicare and Social Security. They will also fight to provide a real prescription drug benefit that ensures access to affordable drugs for America's seniors.
A Plan to Strengthen Medicare
Create a Real Medicare Drug Benefit. George Bush passed a Medicare prescription drug bill that did nothing to stop soaring prescription drugs costs. John Kerry and John Edwards support a real, meaningful affordable drug benefit that doesn't force seniors into HMOs, is run by Medicare instead of private insurance companies that charge seniors whatever they want, and provides real relief to every senior no matter where they live.
Ensure Access To Affordable Prescription Drugs. The Kerry-Edwards plan will cut prescription drugs costs by (1) requiring the Secretary of Health and Human Services to negotiate better prices for prescription drugs, rather than paying the highest prices, (2) allowing reimportation of safe, FDA-approved drugs so that Americans can get the discounts on medications that are available in Canada and other countries, (3) requiring transparency rules for Pharmacy Benefit Managers that do business with the Federal government to reveal their profits from the drug industry and bulk purchasing, and (4) helping states provide discounts to other populations by giving them incentives to implement more efficient contracting to obtain better rates for prescription drugs.
Give Seniors Quality Options To Address Their Long-Term Care Needs. The Kerry-Edwards plan will ensure that seniors living in nursing homes receive quality care through adequate inspections and better training for health care workers. Their plan will also protect Medicaid from politicians who want to block grant the program, which would threaten access to the services seniors needs. Their plan will give seniors more options by allowing Medicaid to pay for a

Excerpts: Bin Laden video
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3966817.stm
"Security is an important pillar of human life. Free people do not relinquish their security. This is contrary to Bush's claim that we hate freedom.
Let him tell us why we did not strike Sweden, for example. It is known that those who hate freedom do not have proud souls, like the souls of the 19 people [killed while perpetrating the 11 September 2001 attacks], may God have mercy on them.
We fought you because we are free and do not accept injustice. We want to restore freedom to our nation. Just as you waste our security, we will waste your security."
"...I am amazed at you. Although almost four years have passed since the [11 September] incidents, Bush is still practising distortion and confusion.
He also continues to conceal from you the real reason [for the 11 September attacks]. Thus, the motives still exist for repeating what happened."

Accordingly, he transferred dictatorship and the repression of freedoms to his son by introducing the Patriot Act under the pretext of fighting terrorism.
Bush Senior deemed it appropriate to assign his sons to states. He also did not forget to convey the [election] rigging experience from the leaders of the [Arab] region to Florida to benefit from it at critical times...
We had agreed with the chief amir [leader - of the 11 September hijackers] Mohammed Atta that he should accomplish all the operations within 20 minutes before Bush and his administration could take notice.

Health Savings Accounts are simply not the answer.
How many people living paycheck-to-paycheck have money to set aside to put into health savings accounts for a rainy day?
How many of you have Health Savings Accounts now? After all, they are available now.
Kerry's proposal is to give incentives to businesses so they can provide insurance to employees. Tax credits that will especially help small businesses.
How many people want to administer their own health plan and coverage?
How many children benefit from health savings accounts?

All your doing now is creating hard feelings.

Tora Bora: What Really Happened?
by Peter Bergen
http://www.peterbergen.com/clients/PeterBergen/pbergen.nsf/Web00002Show?OpenForm&ParentUNID=9FF2726B6783C68085256F3B00447441
Peter Bergen, one of the only journalists to INTERVIEW Osama bin Laden really tears Bush up on this.
Apologists for the US military failure at Tora Bora will no doubt provide several compelling reasons why this was the case, including a lack of airlift capabilities from the US base in neighboring Uzbekistan. However, such explanations are hard to square with the fact that scores of journalists managed to find their way to Tora Bora, a battle covered on live television by the world's leading news organizations. If Fox and CNN could arrange for their crews to cover Tora Bora it is puzzling that the US military could not put more boots on the ground to find the man who was the intellectual author of the 9/11 attacks. Sadly, there were probably more American journalists at the battle of Tora Bora than there were US troops. And in that sense, Sen. Kerry's charge that Tora Bora was a missed opportunity to bring bin Laden to justice isn't "garbage", but an accurate reflection of the historical record.

The overwhelming majority of federal income taxes are paid by the very highest income earners. The top 1% of income earners pays 31.6% of all income taxes, the top 5% pays 51.4%, the top 10% pays 63.5%, and the top 20% of income earners pays 78.4% of all federal income taxes. The bottom four-fifths of income earners pay just over one-fifth of all federal income taxes.

Arkansas Legislature Candidate Drops Bid
CONWAY, Ark. - A Republican state legislative candidate suspended his campaign Friday after news surfaced of his arrest record for exposing himself to children.
Alan Fortney was arrested three times since 1981 on misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure. He was fined but never served time in jail, he told the Log Cabin Democrat newspaper of Conway, about 25 miles north of Little Rock.
In a statement, Fortney said he was suspending his campaign because he believes "it is in the best interest of my family and me personally to take my name out of consideration for this office."
Fortney, 42, told The Associated Press he didn't "know what else to say."
"My name will still be on there (the ballot) but I've discontinued my campaign. I pulled the ads, everything," he said.

DARREL ROWLAND: Frankly, that's been said so often that's almost the cliché of the year in both senses of the word. One, Ohio could be very, very close on election night, and in fact, we may not know the winner election night or the next morning or who knows how long. And number two, in that our voting procedures are so much under fire, they may or may not withstand security.
We are in court today, as a matter of fact, on the Republican's effort to challenge about 35,000 of these newly registered voters across the state. They lost that at the federal court level. However, there have been appeals made today -- actually, three different appeals: One by the Franklin County Board of Elections here in Columbus; one by the Republican Party and one by another group, one by our attorney-general, Jim Pietro. So that's an emergency appeal to the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, so stay tuned for more developments on that.

Bin Laden thanks God for Bush' slow response on September 11th:
"It never occurred to us that the supreme commander of the US armed forces would leave 50,000 of his citizens in the two towers to face those great horrors alone, at a time when they needed him badly."

I didn't think that Laura would be on there--(a) she has to share the stage with Democrats, (b) she's in the belly of her so-call liberal media, and (c) I didn't think she cared for Jews that much. Or was that Ann Coulter who fells that way?

President Bush and Cplin Powell were having breakfast at a resteraunt in a small town. The surprised waiter said, "It's a real honor to meet both of you. But what in the world are you two doing here?"
Bush said, "We're planning World War III. We're going to kill a lot of innocent civilians and one blonde with big tits."
The waiter asked "Why kill a blonde with big tits?"
Bush turned to Powell and said, "See. I told you no one would worry about the civilians,"

Posted by: Dutch Masters at October 29, 2004 09:19 PM
Not just old people, either. I talked to one of bosses yesterday and asked him if he had voted. He said yes, but told me it was so difficult to make his choice because the negative campaigns really took it out him. I told him that's part of the plan to suppress voter turnout, and then I asked him what his issues were. He told me, told me how shitty Bush had done on all those issues, then told me he voted for Bush anyway, because he didn't know about Kerry. (!!!!)
I just about lost it. He's an intelligent man, and I made sure to tell him (respectfully) that he had clearly voted against his best interests. By the end of our chat, he was feeling a little lousy about it. Some consolation, but it was pretty depressing. I just don't get it.

Carmine does have one point in his faor regarding someone being contacted because of ballot problems. There have been over 150 absentee ballots set aside that probably will not be counted because the voter did not sign their name in a rectangular area on the flap of the envilope.
In this case BOTH political parties have started to contact the voters in question to have them file provisional ballots. BOth parties are also trying to get the ballots counted.

Carmine, War Dog, other wankers ... are aptly described in this article
The quote of choice is:
They are not looking for facts with which to defeat opponents. They are looking for facts that ensure them an ever-expanding roster of opponents. They can be correct facts, incorrect facts, irrelevant facts, it doesn't matter. The point is not to win the argument, the point is to make sure the argument never stops. Permanent war isn't a policy imposed from above; it's an emotional imperative that rises from the bottom. In a way, it actually helps if the fact is dubious or untrue (like the Swift-boat business), because that guarantees an argument. You're arguing the particulars, where you're right, while they're arguing the underlying generalities, where they are.
Once you grasp this fact, you're a long way to understanding what the Hannitys and Limbaughs figured out long ago: These people will swallow anything you feed them, so long as it leaves them with a demon to wrestle with in their dreams.

Instead of letting him blather about how when you move, you need to prove your residence at that new address, they should have said but SHE HAD VOTED TWICE at this address, her address was on record and had been acceptable in two previous elections THIS YEAR!
Instead they just try to appeal to rationality of which he has none. Sigh.

Minneapolis is the county seat of Hennepin County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 382,618 making it the largest city in Minnesota. It is in the southeast part of the state, adjoining the second-largest city and state capital, St. Paul. The two cities on the Mississippi River together are known as the Twin Cities. Minneapolis takes its name from the Dakota word for water ('minne') and the Greek word for city ('polis'), and is sometimes called the 'City of Lakes.'

The state and county Republican Party filed before Friday's deadline to have a voter challenger at each of Licking County's 122 precincts. The Democratic Party did not file on Friday and will not have any challengers in Licking County, although they may have challengers in other Ohio counties.

George Bush' plan for moral improvement...
"As of Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at least 1,111 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. At least 848 died as a result of hostile action, according to the Defense Department. The figures include three military civilians."
"The AP count is four higher than the Defense Department's tally, last updated Friday at 10 a.m. EDT."
"The British military has reported 67 deaths; Italy, 19; Poland, 13; Spain, 11; Ukraine, nine; Bulgaria, seven; Slovakia, three; Estonia, Thailand and the Netherlands, two each; and Denmark, El Salvador Hungary and Latvia have reported one death each."
"Since May 1, 2003, when President Bush declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 973 U.S. military members have died, according to AP's count. That includes at least 739 deaths resulting from hostile action, according to the military's numbers"

Carmine is just another one of the "loyal Party followers". Theirs is a closed mind, unable to "see" the errors of their party. There is no talking to people like this, because they will not hear what you say, because when you begin with wanting to have an honest discussion, they are ready to reject anything and everything you have to say. I'd like to think it is because they are brainwashed, but it is more a matter of remaining loyal, no matter what.
I spoke to a Repub last week, and looked him in the eyes and asked him if he honestly felt that W deserved another 4 years. He answered honestly "no", citing the "Iraq Mess", and the Deficit as abominable failures. This man and I always disagreed about Bush, but this was the first time he actually agreed with the obvious.
That discussion gave me hope.
People like Carmine cannot help themselves.
Keep the faith folks.

No, no NO!! The Osama Bin Laden video can't be allowed to help Bush!
Bin Laden just publicly thanked Allah that Bush was so slow & incompetent on September 11th!!!
"We had agreed with the chief amir [leader - of the 11 September hijackers] Mohammed Atta that he should accomplish all the operations within 20 minutes before Bush and his administration could take notice.
"It never occurred to us that the supreme commander of the US armed forces would leave 50,000 of his citizens in the two towers to face those great horrors alone, at a time when they needed him badly.
"This is because it seemed to him that being preoccupied with the little child's talk about her goat and its butting was more important than being preoccupied with the planes and their ramming into the skyscrapers.
"This gave with three times the period required for carrying out the operations, praise be to God."

Lets waste the time of the Challengers at the polling places!
I plan to be Challenger bait on Tuesday. I'll carry Democratic voter guides and wear a Kerry button. Maybe I'll affect an accent and wear a La Raza shirt. With any luck I'll attract the attention of the Republican disenfanchiser. Then I pull out my cellphone and a notebook, maybe even take some photos, start interrogating him (or her) and generally monopolize all his attention and time while my neighbors proceed through the line unimpeded. In the end I'll vote (I've been voting in the same precinct in every single general election for the last 15 years, they won't be able to legally stop me).

Nobody, if the troops think our president is a so-called "dickwad," why are they supporting him in overwhelming numbers? A poll out yesterday said that 2/3 of National Guard members (AND their families) will be supporting the president. Our men and women in uniform love this president! Kerry, who badmouthed his fellow servicemen when he returned from Vietnam, has very little credibility with the military. I know I said this yesterday, but I want to repeat it. The president may not have gone to Vietnam, but at least he didn't badmouth his fellow soldiers for political gain.

OP-ED COLUMNIST
It's Not Just Al Qaqaa
By PAUL KRUGMAN
ust in case, the right is already explaining away President Bush's defeat: it's all the fault of the "liberal media," particularly The New York Times, which, so the conspiracy theory goes, deliberately timed its report on the looted Al Qaqaa explosives - a report all the more dastardly because it was true - for the week before the election.
It's remarkable that the right-wingers who dominate cable news and talk radio are still complaining about a liberal stranglehold over the media. But, that absurdity aside, they're missing a crucial point: Al Qaqaa is hardly the only tale of incompetence and mendacity to break to the surface in the last few days. Here's a quick look at some of the others:
Letting Osama get away Just before the story about Al Qaqaa broke, the Bush-Cheney campaign was frantically trying to debunk John Kerry's statement that Mr. Bush let Osama bin Laden get away when he was cornered at Tora Bora. That getaway, Mr. Kerry asserts, was possible because the administration "outsourced" the job of closing off escape routes to local Afghan warlords.
In response, Gen. Tommy Franks claimed that we don't know that Osama was at Tora Bora, and, anyway, we didn't outsource the work of catching him. Dick Cheney called Mr. Kerry's claims "absolute garbage." But multiple reports from 2001 and early 2002 confirm Mr. Kerry's version. As Peter Bergen, a terrorism expert, writes, Mr. Kerry's charge is "an accurate reflection of the historical record."
Posted by: tonid at October 29, 2004 09:47 PM
Janeane,
Don't let your dad get you down. I tried to get my Republican mother to "see the light" up to the year she died (in her early 80's.) She came from a long family line of Republicans and would feel as though she were abandoning them if she were ever to change. The best I was able to do was to get her to watch the Presidential debates (in 1990, the year she died) and, after seeing and listening to George Bush, she said she was not going to vote. THAT was a major statement, coming from someone who was active and "connected" in the Republican Party all her adult life. I honestly think your father WILL NOT believe what conflicts with his world view.
I'm afraid you are wasting your time...

The guy got booed at the VFW convention in Vegas (while the president was warmly greeted). The veterans are for the president and so are our current military. ALL of the polls I have seem that have conducted surveys of the preferences of the military have the president up BIG, including the Nat'l Guard one I cited earlier.

Funny thing about that, there was another recent poll that said that 54% of the military were voting for Kerry.
And its a very funny thing that even though I know quite a few kids in the military, and several currently serving officers, and have met several vets who have returned from the war arena, not a one of them has anything good to say about the current administration or Bush. Maybe they are just all really sensitive about my feelings, eh?

That one of the reasons music converged to a form of 12 note even-temperment tuning, was because the instruments, keyboard and guitar, were technically different?
In other words the violin and the piano...were designed differently...so eventually musicians needed a way for them to be "in tune".

Something totally creepy...from Talking Points Memo:
Can you say 'cult of personality'?
Chris Suellentrop has a half bizarre/half chilling report from the campaign trail in Florida last night. It's about what seems to be a new feature of the Bush rallies: the pledge of allegiance to President Bush.
Here's Chris ...
"I want you to stand, raise your right hands," and recite "the Bush Pledge," said Florida state Sen. Ken Pruitt. The assembled mass of about 2,000 in this Treasure Coast town about an hour north of West Palm Beach dutifully rose, arms aloft, and repeated after Pruitt: "I care about freedom and liberty. I care about my family. I care about my country. Because I care, I promise to work hard to re-elect, re-elect George W. Bush as president of the United States."

But they will have the best lawyers money can buy! They will get away with it. What we need to do it to set them off against each other. The Christians need to turn states evidence against the tycoons. They can feel good about it too.
The tycoons aren't doing a very Christian thing by suppressing the vote!

With all due respect to your father, which isn't much, we hardly need another slant-head, ditto-machine spewing the Bush White-lying house drool.
Social security taxes used to be put into a fund that was OFF-BUDGET until Congress took it OFF-BUDGET. Now the money collected goes into general revenue. When Clinton accrued budget surpluses, he used it to pay down our National debt, which actually increased the surplus because not only did we pay down some debt, we also decreased the amount of money we had to pay towards interest on the National debt. Paying down the debt inceased the money out there for businesses to use and kept the interest rates low, but it also put us in a more financially secure position to cover the costs of social security when the baby boom generation retires. John Kerry will not have to raise taxes because he supports a BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT. An amendment to our constitution that REQUIRES the Federal Government to live within its means. Which is easy to do if we quit allowing Republicans to give tax breaks to their campaign contributors.
Second, health saving accounts do NOTHING to affect the problem. Giving people health INSURANCE will lower the costs. If you are a person without health insurance you pay a higher price than someone who has health insurance.

Nope. I listened to most of his blather. In the beginning Jeanine and Sam just being nice and go easy on him even if he blathers away.
He SOUNDS reasonable, his voice doesn't modulate much. But like I say his trick is very simple.
-Declare the other guys doens't know what he is talking about. (regardless)
-Then he blathers away and toss out all his stuff.
-If ask to give concrete proof, he moves on to next subject
-If point it out logical incoherent, he will say. no, you are wrong. then move on to next subject.
He is dishonest and an asshole.
SImple as it is.

This reminds me of the episode of the Simpson's where Bart needs to get a good grade or he won't be able to see the Itchy and Scratchy Movie. He gets a 'D', and tries to fudge it, turning it into a really bad 'A'. Homer sees through this, and tells him he could've just tried for a 'B'. No movie.
My hope is that if the Repubs are intent on winning this election illegally, they'll get greedy and try to turn the 'D' into an 'A'.
Otherwise, it's Kerry in a landslide.

Posted by: Mel at October 29, 2004 09:54 PM
Not to make anyone too paranoid (as if it's hard these days), but earlier in today's news cycle, they had this 'talking terrorist' video on (at least) CNN, which seemed dubious -- and which was quickly pulled.
Then, as if by magic, you have this 'bona fide Osama bin Laden tape' running everywhere, directly mocking the U.S. president. Even my own "U.S.A." button was pressed upon seeing this, so despite what anyone may say this tape was 'for' Bush in some way or another.

I'm sure glad my dad isn't like poor Janeanes. My dad is still a hippie in his 60's. He really gets into the issues and is very serious about politics because of all the bad stuff that happened in the 60's and 70's. My old man is open with me when I point out when I have a different opinion. He'll change an opinion on something when he understands he had it wrong. Janeanes father seems the opposite of that.

I e-mailed several media about the Sproul scam when it broke, demanding that they cover it. I sent the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette the chat room discussion of librarians and pointed out that Sproul had operated in their area and asked if a librarian had more courage than their paper.
The story appeared two days later.
I e-mailed a long and scathing (but polite) letter to the Bishop in Denver about his remarks and a few weeks later he softened it. (I think I posted it here before the lengths were limited.)
I e-mailed this lunatic

Posted by: Dr. Zimmerman Robert at October 29, 2004 09:55 PM
Sam, you missed the key questions. You should have asked her how many of the 200 challenged people showed up. I will bet it was not even half. The Reps know that they have no cases and no proof for anything. They know they will get clobbered in any hearing. But that does not bother them. What they are banking on is many people not being willing to take time off from work and paying parking fees to go down and prove their case in a hearing. If they don't show up they disqualify themselves and that is what the Reps are counting on. Also you should ask if there are any criminal penalties for filing bogus challenges. If not that would mean I could challenge 2,000 or more reps on no basis whatever. Would they have to go to a hearing? If so, I bet many would not show up.

The guy got booed at the VFW convention in Vegas (while the president was warmly greeted). The veterans are for the president and so are our current military. ALL of the polls I have seem that have conducted surveys of the preferences of the military have the president up BIG, including the Nat'l Guard one I cited earlier.

Rob, why don't you stop insulting our fighting men and women by ASSUMING how you think they will vote based on your own perceptions. It would be interesting to know if you have ever served for this country - if you have ever put your ass on the line, or prefer to make your little assumptions with your fat ass safely in front of your computer.
Half of my family has served in the military, and I currently have a cousin and my husband's cousin serving in Iraq, and there is NO love for Bush in my family. Because we know firsthand how he has wronged those in service.
But you didn't stop at insulting the intelligence of our military, who can make their OWN voting choices and not merely fall in step with the conventional "Military=Republican" line of thinking. You also insulted a decorated Vietnam War veteran by calling him "Hanoi John". The man fought and killed for his country at a time of war, and you call him "Hanoi John". And you support a man who has never put his life in danger for his country ONCE.
You piece of shit. People like you make me sick. YOU are what is wrong with this country.

If you tune a synth to play certain keys at different pitches, then your guitar synth will be slightly different. In order to technically tune "outside" the even temperment tuning scheme, you need a "Just Intonated" designed guitar.
Which means the fret wire are mathematically placed down the fretboard at un-even intervals.
Do not let this fool you. What you do is...set the guitar up with a Roland synth or something. Then remember there are only certain chords which can be played in only ONE key. The synth has the ability to pitch change to any key, any tone, at any hertz.
So if you are used to changing keys, or playing songs with a large palette of chord shapes...then you are just not getting it.
It's about layered "perfection", much like the early religious pieces of our western civilization.
The intervallic structure is "perfect". Like Bob Dylan says, sometimes less is more.
This is why medievel musicians tried to avoid the flatted B note on their lutes. Or goat bladders strung with lamb guts or whatever the f*ck they played...before keeling over from the Black Plague in the Dark Ages.
The perfect triad isn't really "diablo musica"... although...Purple Haze's intro comes close to George Bush's paranoia of micro-dot blotter acid.
Why are there so many people talking about astrology here?

Exactly. Excellent article.
I'm disappointed that Carmine is going to remain locked in his position after all these months and I feel for Janeane. Sam was a blast, though, he really went nuclear and validly so.
The problem with the Carmine's is that they don't want to be accurate or right or reasonable, they want to continue to be suspicious, superior and convinced that the bogeyman - in this case, crazy liberals - are always waiting in the wings ready to destroy America.
After Kerry wins, the long-term effort really commences to build the leftwing institutions that will eventually marginalize the Carmine's of the world. I know people like him and love some of them. But I don't want them to be able to screw up my life or the lives of others because of their paranoia, stubborness and selfishness.
The reachable republicans have already declared themselves for Kerry. The rest are a waste of time. Some people like being brainwashed.

Frank Furt’s Speech
I will fight for the people, and hot dogs, of America. I will serve and protect the future of our country. I will do this without being the bully who picks on smaller and weaker nations. I will try to cooperate with the rest of the world. I will cut most of the money used for war, and use it at home to rebuild America which would create lots of jobs. And I will do everything possible to prevent another draft. I will reduce the cost of prescription medicine, and work to increase money that goes to schools for books, teachers, and after school activities. I believe that everybody and anybody should be able to run for president even if they’re fruit, vegetables or deli meats. That is how America’s democracy should be which it’s not right now, but it should be. I will make it easier for Canadians and Mexicans to work in the US. I would do my best to make America a better place. I will always try to protect the environment. I would make sure voting machines give you a receipt when you vote. I would make it easier for anyone to run for office in politics. I would make TV stations air political ads for free. I will fix the health care system and make it affordable to everyone. I would make college free for everyone. I will try to end poverty everywhere because that would make people happier and it would discourage some violence. I would try to make the world a fairer place, a happier place and a safer place. I would raise the minimum wage to 12 dollars an hour, I would improve environment standards and require that vehicles get better gas mileage. I will make this country the best and most respected country in the world, if you elect me I would make school days shorter, and make sure homework is easier, and have the students give the teachers tests. And I don't want to have to move to Canada or Mexico when I turn 18 just because our government wants to invade countries everywhere and probably plan to send me somewhere I've never heard of with a gun.

I absolutely don't agree with Carmine, but I enjoy the arguments between Sam and Carmine. It really points out the mentality of mindless republicans. Is there a archived stream of Sam and Carmine's exchange from this past Friday's show?
